Customer Critiques

Affordable and rather enjoyable to fly about the home. A micro RC helicopter that doesn't cost and arm and a leg, that can take a beating, and still be reasonably straightforward to fly accurately is each and every small boy's dream. I have the original foam 2 ch SpinMasters helicopter and the 3 ch Syma S010 without having the gyro or remote operated lights, so I really feel that I am pretty knowledgeable with these toys.
This Apache has a especially nicely detailed plastic body and with the bigger three.7v battery, it flies a lot quicker than the earlier 1.7v choppers. The controls are a bit more than-sensitive in that the slightest movements on the perfect stick rotates it or pitches it forward at close to complete speed - pretty much not substantially proportional manage. The Syma may well have been slower and didn't have the gyro, but it was smoother and a lot more precise in controlling it. My Apache also seems to have a defective gyro or control technique, because when hovering, it continually spins clockwise slowly, even if the trim is set as far as attainable to compensate. As the battery winds down, that clockwise spinning gets a bit more quickly and I have to apply some left rudder to compensate additional, which is hard since the rudder is once more overly sensitive. I also do not like the non-spring loaded throttle. It tends to make it far to hassle-free to crash into a thing and then do additional damage to the blades simply because the throttle is nevertheless up. As you fly about an indoor space you will nevertheless be creating constant adjustments to the throttle, so I see why they want to have it stick to 1 setting.
As far as educational value, well it looks like a traditional helicopter, but the propeller configuration and flight manage schemes are a lot completely different - probably less expensive to produce but less "correct" or correct to life. Getting able to turn on the lights from the remote is extremely nice but I wish the colored lights would have been placed much more "authentically" on the tail and sides as actual navigation lights instead of the weird rainbow strobe thingy below the tail. Charge time is substantially longer than the older 1.5v choppers, but you get a USB cable so you won't eat by means of as various AA batteries. Flight time are about the similar and you could nonetheless have to adjust trim a lot and have fine coordination with the controls. Also, be prepared for poor "Engrish" on the instruction manual! Not a poor toy for the $

Appears like I am finding a great deal more and even more items from Amazon that seem employed. The boxes appear like they've been opened, and now I received this helicopter where again the box was re-taped, and only the front light functions, not the remaining three along the rod. The helicopter functions fine, but appears to have been utilised just before.
