Buyer Critiques

I have some of the very same feelings as "D. Hull" in his evaluation. I had constantly wanted a RC helicopter, but located them to be too costly until lately. And then I located the Spy Hawk RC LT-711 RC helicopter. When I bought this, I believed the built in digital camera with mini-SD card that can be activated by way of remote was a genius notion. It was a sleek seeking helicopter with a camera, lights, and the cost was outstanding. It looked too very good to be correct...and it was. Right here are my observations from my knowledge in the couple of days I have had this.
1) The instruction manual is the worst 1 I have ever observed...EVER. It was written in broken English and is riddled with grammatical errors and other statements that just make no sense. To start with, it is a modest leaflet with 8 pages, 2 of which are images of spare parts (but, of course, there is no directions on how to truly replace any parts must a thing break). Where's the rest? This manual is awfully skimpy for a RC helicopter with a camera. Right here are a handful of gems, but there are a lot far more. I am not working with poor grammar right here. These are direct quotes from the instruction manual:
-"Discover: When the airplane is away from the ground in 30cm position, the helicopter will suffer by itself blade vortex to develop into unstable, we contact it 'effect response', when the helicopter height lower, and the 'effect response' have an effect on will be larger."
-"Discover: When the indicator of the controller is sparkle, which shows the controller is lack of power. And you can transform some batteries for it."
There are also parts labeled in the instruction manual in which there is no explanation or instruction supplied, such as the "voltage indicator" on the remote and "2 speed mode" button. How do these operate? Who knows? The instruction manual doesn't tell you.
The instruction manual also indicates this helicopter is for ages 14+, but the box clearly says ages eight+. This sort of discrepancy should really never ever exist, but in my private opinion, I would not give this to an 8 year old.
two) The digital camera does not work reliably. I got it to record a handful of seconds of test video, but soon after putting the mini SD card back in the helicopter, it only recorded a blank file. For each and every five of 6 blank files it would record, the camera would truly record 1 video, only to go back to generating blank files.
3) Battery capacity is inconsistent. The instruction manual says "Do not charge more than 60-70 minutes". To me, that indicates following 70 minutes of charging and then unplug it from the charger. Right? Will failure to do so harm the battery? I do not know. Once again, the instruction manual does not say. There is an indicator light that goes from red to green when the battery is finished charging. One particular time, it showed it was charged just after about 70 to 75 minutes of charging. The outcome? The helicopter's battery supplied about 2 minutes of flying time. The following charge, it took 2 hours until the battery indicated it was charged. That time, the helicopter flew for about a single minute, but could not be controlled in the air. The propellers would just spin and the helicopter wouldn't get off the ground once more soon after I landed it.
three) The helicopter is highly troublesome to manage outside. It was a sunny day, 54 degrees and no wind. Forward and reverse controls did little to manage the movement of the helicopter.
I have followed what tiny directions had been provided and have not crashed the helicopter in the small time it actually flew. But after only a few flights, it isn't recording video, has an inconsistent and unreliable battery charging method and battery capacity. And, worse but, the helicopter now will not even get off the ground.
If this were a dependable product that did what was advertised and had a much more thorough and understandable instruction manual, I would be pleased to personal this helicopter and recommend it to other people.
I will be returning this helicopter and I welcome anyone's ideas for a far more trustworthy product.

This copter barely goes forward. The video camera works just at times and only records for a few seconds. I broke a blade on the second flight mainly because it wouldn't go forward. I currently own 6 chopers and this is the worse. There are much greater copters out there. I had high hopes and was let down.
