Customer Reviews
Initial to address some of the comments from other reviewers... For the guy who stated there is no yaw trim adjustment on the TX - check out the tiny thumbwheel on the correct side of the TX, there's your trim adjustment. For the guy who couldn't charge from computer USB, mine charges just fine applying the USB cable that came with the S110g.
I have four other Syma 3-ch helicopters, the S107g, S108g, S111g, and the S026g. All flew great appropriate out of the box. Not so with the S110g. Initially flight the helicopter took off, I conveniently trimmed out the yaw, and it flew for a couple of seconds before exhibiting a bad case of TBE (toilet bowl effect). It smashed into the wall and 2 components came off. At very first I could not tell exactly where the parts came from but they were the covers for the LED lights and just snapped back into spot no trouble. TBE is NOT when the helicopter rotates about the key rotor axis, that is yaw and that is what the trim manage takes care of. TBE is when the helicopter swirls about in a large circle like it is being flushed down the toilet when attempting to hover. A small online looking revealed the attainable causes - either a binding flybar or binding upper rotor hub hinges on hinged-blade machines like the Symas. My flybar wasn't binding and the hinges seemed OK, but as an experiment I applied a jeweler's screwdriver to meticulously loosen the upper blade mounting screws by 1/4 turn, just in case they were a little tight. Could not hurt. Then went for a test flight and the TBE was fully cured! Now it flies totally stable and is as responsive as any of its bigger brothers.
So aside from the small TBE dilemma that was conveniently fixed (and by fixing it I learned a lot about how these little guys operate) it is a cool small helicopter and amazingly modest.
I purchased the Heli for $18.45 and its a wonderful deal. It charges fairly quickly and flies really stable. It goes forward and back extremely quickly. The heli is fairly little but especially powerful. Its also educational considering I learned how helicopters operate! The Wings are especially powerful and the lights it shoots out are cool. The Heli is metal with plastic on it but the plastic is rather sturdy. The Remote has no spring so recall to pull down when your landing! It has Gyro which signifies it auto - stablizes itself. My other heli, Syma s012 lasted for 4 days. I feel this heli will final with me forever!
